Journal Entry 40

22.06.2026

After all these years, I still have not become comfortable with the press. Granted, they are doing their part to get a story or report on a story, I understand that much. I still do not understand how King Jonas, world leaders, and celebrities are able to focus when different questions are being asked of them at the same time, as if they were almost yelling.

Prime Minister Sabine Keller was astounding this afternoon, in her professional presentation during the trade and cultural talks at Diaoyutai. I am sure she made Jonas proud. Sabine has the stature of Margaret Thatcher, yet the kind of persona Barbara Bush portrayed during President Bush’s presidency.

Before the Official talks began, King Jonas met privately with President Xi Jinping. The one-on-one conversations Jonas has with world leaders remain unknown, even to me. Of course, I ask Jonas what he discusses during these conversations; however, he always gives me that look. I have known that look since we were young. It is the look of “none of your business.” Honestly, it drives me crazy not knowing. But I respect his privacy.

I was interviewed briefly by Euro News and CNA before I politely excused myself from their reporters’ questions. I was hoping to discuss the King and the Prime Minister’s views on trade and cultural ties with Beijing, but the news media wanted to focus on the death of my wife, and when my children were taken hostage. Today was not the day for that type of discussion. I will get to that conversation at some point. Just not now.

This evening, we will leave for Singapore, which is the leg of the trip I have been most excited about. Fräulein Heng, who remains my family’s nanny, will also be in Singapore to introduce Jonas and me to her family. Fräulein Heng has been my rock during my most troubled times. She has always and continues to support and listen to me without judgment, even when I become emotional or angry.

On Thursday, Jonas and Sabine will meet with representatives from Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia. All four nations have expressed keen interest in our drone innovations and technology. There is no doubt that all of us, each citizen of the world, live in a new and, in my opinion, scary era of technology.

I am looking forward to tomorrow, as Jonas and I become regular tourists. On Wednesday, Jonas will join a Singaporean non-profit organization during a refurbishment affordable living project. The press is not aware of the King’s involvement, and I hope they are not tipped off. Refurbishment projects for those in need are dear to Jonas’s heart. From the depths of his soul, he truly loves to help others.

The more I think about what makes Jonas the man he is, the more I find myself, shall I dare write, attracted? I’m not sure why. He is my best friend and my King. Where are these feelings coming from?
