Journal Entry 46

03.07.2026

Late this afternoon, I hosted a gathering at my residence for friends and family to watch Dorstenland’s football team play during the FIFA World Cup 2026. I felt an overwhelming amount of empathy for Emma. She loved playing football as a center midfielder, but her days on the field ended when she was kidnapped. It remains difficult for me to even speak or write about the events that led to Emma’s paralysis. I suspect that at some point in my journal entries, I will share the details.

Lately, I feel as though I am processing closure for what my family and I have been through. Removing and storing most of Karina’s items from our master bedroom this week was, in itself, a start. I realize I need to move on from this burden that I have kept on my shoulders for six years.

Princess Tatiana brought her new boyfriend, Adrian, to the watch party. The poor mate seemed terrified until he relaxed later into the evening. I understood his anxiety. Dating a princess must be thrilling yet anxiety-provoking. Not to mention this was Adrian’s first time with King Jonas in a relaxed atmosphere.

My dearest journal, I must express a pet peeve of mine that continues to this day. No matter the gathering, whether formal or informal, Jonas is always the first person to eat appetizers. Then, almost on cue, he tells everyone what is on his plate. It is one of those habits that never fails to test my patience. I have asked Jonas so many times since we were teenagers to stop describing the contents on his plate to others, but the King just laughs me off. To be honest, he sometimes sends me into stitches as I watch others react to his excitement.
