Journal Entry 24
21. April 2026
It has been almost three and a half years since I last wrote in my journal. The lives of my children, me, my country, and my king have been forever changed during my absence from journaling. I plan to write details of events that occurred over the past few years at some point, but for now, I will briefly outline what has transpired.
- The King’s wife, Queen Claudia, was assassinated by Prime Minister Hans Northcott during his attempted coup.
- My children, Otto and Emma, were rescued by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, SVR, during a dangerous rescue mission on an oil tanker in the Gulf of Finland, where the two were held hostage.
- The Russo-Ukrainian War continues to this day without a compromise or ceasefire. Dorstenland’s neutrality has not changed. Instead of choosing sides, King Jonas focused his attention and monetary funding on preventing Northcott’s attempted coup, which almost ended the reign of the Dietrich Royal Family.
- Queen Grandmother, Sofia, passed peacefully from natural causes.
- The King’s children have grown into adults, and so have mine. It is hard to believe our children now range in age from 18 to 22.
- Jonas and I have grown closer than ever since the death of our wives.
- Dorstenland’s economy has stabilized since the attempted coup. NCD (Neu Christlich Demokratische Partei Dorstenlands) has lost most credibility due to the party’s connection with Northcott. Our country’s populace continues to vote out the party’s candidates from local governments to Parliament during elections and recalls.
- Heir to the throne, Princess Emily, will complete university studies in a matter of weeks. She will then join our country’s military as required under law for all royals.
Long live King Jonas!
